Our Crew

The Tidewaves are made up of three friends; Louise, Robyn and Jordan. They met at the University of London Boat Club when studying together and have been close ever since. Rowing across the Atlantic together will bring them closer than ever.

  • Louise Cox

Louise started to row age 12 at her local club. Her family’s love of rowing was something she had inherited. Whilst studying for her MA, it was pointed out she may be better suited to being a cox. Cox by name and cox by nature was certainly the case. She was UL women's captain the following year. Louise is keen to prove that size is no obstacle to racing across the ocean.

“I want to give young people the opportunity to find a sport they really love. I found that love in rowing and it gave me confidence in every walk of life”

  • Robyn Hart-Winks

A former member of the GB Rowing Team turned Primary School teacher, Robyn came to rowing in her late teens, when she began studying at the University of Edinburgh. Robyn had always enjoyed taking part in a range of sports, competing to the highest level and then becoming a world champion dancer aged 15. Then, when taking up rowing at 19, she instantly fell in love with the sport.

“Through my own experiences growing up and being a primary school teacher now, I have seen first hand the positive impact sport can have on children and want all young people to be afforded these opportunities”

  • Jordan Cole-Hossain

Jordan was introduced to rowing through the London Youth Rowing programme at 15. In 2022 Jordan went on to win the Wargrave Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. Rowing now has moved beyond the purely competitive for Jordan and in embarking on this challenge will be the pinnacle in a test of what rowing has taught her.

“London Youth Rowing opened the world of rowing to me and it has been invaluable in shaping my life. I want to pursue the sport in its purest and most extreme form, by testing all I was taught and rowing across an ocean.”
